For the logo of the Sisters of the Holy Cross we find the following interpretations:
The three hills points to Menzingen in Switzerland, the cradle of the Holy Cross Sisters, where the Motherhouse of the Congregation is situated in a very hilly region. They are also a symbol of the Holy Trinity, which is the foundation of our Christian faith.
The Cross refers to the name of the Congregation: Sisters of the Holy Cross. It is the emblem of the Paschal Mystery, which is the centre of our lives.
The sun is Christ in our lives.
The moon is a symbol of Mary, the reflection of Christ. We too are called to reflect Christ.
The stars express the original apostolate of the Sisters: The Congregation began as "Teaching Congregation": "Those who have instructed many in virtue shall shine as bright stars for all eternity." (Dan 12:3) Through baptism every Christian is called to teach the faith through word and example.
