Holy Cross Primary School Athletes Shine at Joe Gqabi Athletics Meeting
The athletes of Holy Cross Primary School have once again showcased their prowess and brought pride to their school as they delivered exceptional performances at the recent Joe Gqabi Athletics Meeting. With determination and skill, they competed against tough opponents and emerged victorious in various events, earning accolades and commendations.
Leading the charge was Genevieve Mooko, whose remarkable display in javelin earned her the top spot on the podium, demonstrating precision and strength in her throws. Inam Makhba soared to a commendable third place in the high jump, showcasing agility and technique. Avuyisiwe Yudu secured another first place for Holy Cross in shot put, while Alwaba Mdleleni secured second place in the same event, highlighting the school's dominance in field events.
Further triumphs unfolded in the high jump category, with Ahlumile claiming the gold medal and Lisakhanya securing third place. Oyama Smith exhibited speed and agility, clinching second place in hurdles, while Ranapula Ntsoesanyana's efforts secured a respectable third place in the high jump. Lukhona Samuel joined the ranks of champions with a stellar performance, securing first place in high jump.
Onkgopotse Ntsere proved to be a versatile athlete, claiming second place in the 100m race, and demonstrating his agility and speed in securing first place in the 80m sprint and long jump events. Bubuhle Wana's skill in shot put earned her a commendable second place, while Nomavanda's prowess was evident as she secured third place in discus.
